Sprinter Club's Akshay Khot flew off the blocks as he clinched gold in the men's 100m race with a timing of 10.6secs at the Mumbai City District Amateur Athletic meet, held at the University Pavilion, Marines Lines yesterday.

Earlier, 21-year-old Akshay had also clinched the 200m run in a record time of 21.3secs. Meanwhile, 19-year-old Neha Neharkar clocked 15.0secs in the women's 100m race.
In U-16 boy's 100m event, Shanay Parekh clinched gold with a timing of 12.2secs and then won gold in long jump with a leap of 5.42metres.
