He won 7-6 (7/3), 6-3, 6-2. Meanwhile, second seed Novak Djokovic beat error-plagued Michael Llodra of France 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 to set up a last-eight clash with 18-year-old Australian Tomic who beat Belgian Malisse 6-1, 7-5, 6-4.
