No sex during Olympics for swimmer Magnini

Italian swimmer Filippo Magnini, boyfriend of Olympic champion Federica Pellegrini, has revealed he will be refraining from sex during the London Games

“There are athletes who even have sex the evening before (a race), but I’m more prudent,” double 100m freestyle world champion Magnini told ‘A’ magazine.

“During the events I try to keep calm,” added Magnini, who has been going out with Olympic 200m freestyle and reigning world 200m and 400m freestyle champion Pellegrini for two years.

Magnini, 30, won the world 100m freestyle titles in 2005 and 2007 and has come back strong this season, winning the European 100m freestyle title in Debrecen, Hungary last month.

He also won an Olympic bronze medal in the 4x200m freestyle relay in Athens in 2004.
