School kids will be seen teeing off on the greens of Chembur in an event called 'The Evolution Golf Western India Inter-School championship' to be held at Bombay Presidency Golf Club from December 26 to 28
The three-day golf extravaganza will witness the participation of over 50 schools located in the West Zone (Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Baroda etc). Apart from the individual championship, the kids will also get a chance to represent their schools.

Golfing talent from schools like J B Petit, Cathedral & John Connon, St Anthony’s Girls, Dhirubhai Ambani International, Delhi Public School, The Bishop’s School, Hiranandani Foundation, G D Somani Memorial, B D Somani, Bombay Scottish will be seen fighting it out for top honours in the U-9, U-11, U-13, U-15 and U-18 age groups.
Some of the ranked players on the Western India merit list like Rohan Dholepatil (St Vincent’s), Sahil Motiani (Ahmedabad International), Arya Chudasama (DPS, Gandhinagar), Ahaan Nath (Cathedral & John Connon), Tanmay Negi (The Bishop’s Co-Ed School), Samruddhi Yadav (St Mary’s Convent), and Kanishka Lunkad (Bishop’s School) have confirmed their participation. “The inter-school championship is the first step to grow golf. Our primary focus is to increase popularity of the sport across the country,” Shivas Nath, tournament director and CEO of Evolution Golf, told MiD DAY yesterday.
Amit Nigam, junior golf development tour commissioner informed: “Apart from the advanced coaching program called ‘E’ The School of Excellence where we provide opportunity to budding golfers to learn golf the correct way, this tournament is our way of taking the sport to the grassroots level.”u00a0
