Professional golfer Rory McIlroy and his fiancee Erica Stoll tied the knot at Ashford Castle, Ireland, on Saturday, in a wedding that was estimated to cost around $1.2 million. The lavish ceremony included performances from singer Stevie Wonder, a sumptuous gourmet menu supervised by Ashford Castle executive chef, Philippe Farineau, and a guest list of high-profile names including Niall Horan, Sergio Garcia, Chris Martin, Ed Sheeran and even former Manchester United player Ryan Giggs.
McIlroy began dating Erica, who once worked as the manager of Championship Volunteer Operations at the PGA (Professional Golfers' Association) of America, in 2014, after infamously splitting with Danish tennis professional Caroline Wozniacki in the same year. The pair made their first public appearance at the Royal County Down, the site of the Irish Open, in May, to general astonishment. And in December last year, the 2014 Open Championship winner popped the question to Erica in Paris.
"For me, Erica brings such a level of normality to everything. She has a calming presence. She never wants to be the center of attention and is always very comfortable in the background," McIlroy had said about Stoll recently.
