The third seeds lost in straight sets to second seeds Serbian-Polish combination of Nenad Zimonjic and Marcin Matkowski 3-6, (8) 6-7 in an hour and 19 minutes.
The match was fiercely contested on the prestigious grass courts of the Queen's Club.
Zimonjic and Matkowski began on a positive note winning 20 out of 24 first serve points and two crucial break points. Three double faults by Paes-Nestor made it easy for their opponents to take the first set 6-3.
Paes and Nestor came back strongly in the second set but they were matched at every step by the Serbian-Polish duo.
The second set extended to a tie-break and Zimonjic-Matkowski clinched the tie-breaker and booked their place in the final after playing some aggressive tennis.
