Netherlands beat Uruguay 3-2 to book their ticket for the final and gifted playmaker Wesley Sneijder was absolutely delighted with Oranje's hard fought victory against the Charruas.
"This is simply incredible. It was a very tough battle, but I'm delighted that we've made it. We got a bit sloppy towards the end of the match and Uruguay came quite close in the dying seconds," said Sneijder to NOS.
"However, the most important thing is that we won the match. It's all about winning your matches and nobody cares how we did it. It has yet to sink in that we've made it to the final.
"I've had a lot of success at club level last year, but playing in a final is always extremely exciting. The Champions League final is the biggest thing on club level, but the World Cup final beats everything.
"We're so close to winning the tournament now. We will take our time to enjoy the moment for now before we shift our focus to the final again."
The Inter star also took the time to reflect on his goal.
"I was a bit lucky. I just opted to shoot and the ball went in off a defender. I'm very happy with my fifth goal at the tournament."
