Renjith bags gold in triple jump

Tamil Nadu's Renjith Maheshwari broke his own meet record en-route his gold-wining performance on the first day of the 16th Federation Cup National Senior Athletics Championships here on Saturday.

In his fifth and penultimate attempt, national record holder Maheshwari leapt 16.85m to beat the old meet record of 16.72m which he created in 2007. ONGC’s Arpinder Singh (16.20m) won the silver, while Tamil Nadu’s Raja Sekar bagged bronze (15.79m).
