The 6th Vasai Virar Mayor's Marathon, a national level event to be run on December 11, has offered a total prize fund of Rs 35 lakh across all categories.

The winner of the men's full race stands to gain Rs 2.5 lakh while the winners of the half marathon, among men and women, would each take home R1.25 lakh each, it was announced by the Vashi Virar Municipal Corporation's first woman mayor, Pravina Thakur, at a media conference yesterday.

The event is organised by the Corporation and Vasai Taluka Kala Krida Vikas Mandal.
