Sania Mirza and her Russian partner Elena Vesnina secured a straight-set win over Chinese duo Jie Zheng and Peng Shuai to enter the final of the Family Circle Cup WTA event on Saturday.
The unseeded Indo-Russian pair won 6-2, 7-5 to make the finals and be in contention for their second WTA title together after the victory at Indian Wells last month.
The Indo-Russian combine had dispatched the American pair 6-0, 7-5 in the finals of the Indian Wells event last month.
Mirza and Vesnina will now meet fourth-seeded American duo of Bethannie Mattek-Sands and Meghann Shaughnessy in the finals.
In the semi-finals, which lasted a little over an hour, Mirza and Vesnina dominated the opening set, converting four break points to win the set. The second set turned was fiercely contested but the Indo-Russian pairu00a0 held their nerves to win.
