Sania Mirza registered her 500th professional career win after she moved into the women's doubles quarter-finals of the WTA Brussels Open getting the better of Mervana Jugic-Salkic and Sandra Klemenschits 6-4 6-2 in the opening round of the $637,400 premier clay court event.
The fourth seed Indo-American took 65 minutes to send their rivals home.

They now face wild card entrants Elena Bovina and Alison Van Uytvanck. It was Sania’s 230th win in doubles. She also has 270 singles wins in her kitty.
But Sania failed to cross the first-round hurdle after losing 1-6, 5-7 to Monica Niculescu of Romania.
