Kashyap is grieving over the death of his elder sister Sushmala (26), who passed away in Bangalore on Wednesday night.

Kashyap termed his sister's death as a personal loss that he will take time to overcome. "I don't want to speak about her demise. She was close to me.u00a0 I won't be playing in the Indonesian Super Series. I have just reached Hyderabad and before I took a decision I spoke to Gopi sir (P Gopichand) and finally decided not to play.
The decision to play or not was solely mine," said Kashyap, who is the highest rankedu00a0u00a0 Indian men's player.
Speaking from Singapore national coach Gopichand said: "I told him to take his own time and then take a call.
I left the decision to him. What's happened is really shocking. During the Singapore Super Series when we got the news, we asked him to go home. But after he reached Hyderabad he gave me a call and has decided not to play in the Indonesian Super Series."
Meanwhile, in Kashyap'su00a0 absence Ajay Jayaram will spearhead the Indian challenge in the men's singles and Saina Nehwal will look to forget her Singapore Open loss and surge ahead.
