India's Somdev Dev Varman continued his winning streak, defeating Holland's Igor Sijsling in the second round of the men's singles qualifying at Flushing Meadows last night.

After winning the first easily 6-3, Dev Verman dropped the second set, which lasted for over an hour, 6-7 (8-6). However, the Indian came back brilliantly in the decider, clinching it 6-3 to seal the match in his favour.
