Somdev Devvarman's dream run was snapped on Monday when he crashed out of the $50,000 ATP Challenger clay court tournament here in the first round.
Devvarman, who achieved a career-best ranking of 68 last week and the second seed in the tournament, was shocked by wild card entrant Antonio Veic, ranked 164 places below him 3-6, 2-6.
Devvarman defeated World No 26 Guillermo Garcia-Lopez of Spain in the second round of the ATP Tour event in Belgrade the week before last.
Devvarman still remains in the fray in Zagreb, having entered the doubles draw paired with the Swiss Yves Allegro. The duo take on Germany's Dustin Brown and Dominik Meffert in the opening round.
