St Stanislaus (Bandra) beat Campion School (Cooperage) 4-3 via tie-breaker to lift the Mumbai Schools Sports Association's (MSSA) boy's U-16 Ahmed Sailor Cup after a gap of nine years at Azad Maidan yesterday.
The Bandra school won the title in sudden death, after the score read 1-1 at the final whistle. After a goalless first half, St Stanislaus’ Kevin Barnes opened the scoring in the 43rd minute. Two minutes later, Campion’s Abhishek Agarwal equalised via a solo effort.u00a0

In the shoot-out, Issac Cardozo and Andres Castelino scored for Stanislaus, while Aryan Sood and Danish Shaikh were spot-on for Campion. With the score still tied 3-3, sudden death followed. Sharan Murli scored for Stanislaus while Aditya Sood failed to score for Campion.
Isaac, who was adjudged best player of the tournament credited coach Roy Fernandes for the win. “We haven’t won any MSSA title in the last few years. This was my last game for our school. I’m proud that I will pass out as Ahmed Sailor Cup champion.
This also happens to be Roy (Fernandes) sir’s last year of coaching our school. We’d like to dedicate this to him,” said the Isaac, a Class X student. Fernandes was ecstatic too. “I couldn’t have asked for a better farewell gift from these boys,” he said.
Meanwhile, in the third place clash, St Lawrence (Borivli) beat Christ Church (Byculla) 4-3. u00a0
