Las Vegas: A host of Hollywood A-listers and global sports stars gathered at the MGM Grand to watch Floyd Mayweather Jr comprehensively outpoint Manny Pacquiao in their eagerly-awaited superfight. Veteran actors Clint Eastwood and Robert De Niro received the two biggest cheers from the 16,507 crowd when footage of them walking into the arena was televised on the big screen.

Hollywood biggies in attendance
At the younger end of the Hollywood spectrum were the heavyweight trio of Christian Bale, Ben Affleck and Bradley Cooper, while actress Drew Barrymore was also ringside to witness the weltwerweight rivals in action. Sporting royalty was present in the form of legendary tennis couple Andre Agassi and Steffi Graff. The likes of singers Rihanna and Justin Bieber, Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg, entertainer Jay Z and his singer wife Beyoncé Knowles watched from their coveted ringside seats as Floyd beat Manny on points in the richest fight in history at USD 300 million.

Joining De Niro and Co were Hollywood superstars Denzel Washington, Matt Damon, Nicki Minaj, Paris Hilton, Jesse Jackson and Jake Gylenhaal. Topping the power list hot shot entrepreneur Donald Trump with wife Melania. Basketball legend Michael Jordan with wife Yvette Prieto adding to the sporting glamour, just as English golfer Justin Rose who made it to the fight with wife Kate Phillips.

Rory misses out
World No 1 golfer Rory McIlroy however didn’t make it in time despite acquiring tickets as he was participating in the WGC-Cadillac Match Play in San Francisco and instead watched the match from the media center there. The event also marked the first time when F1 ace Lewis Hamilton and his former Pussy Cat Doll girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger attended an event separately.
