The Maharashtra government's DSO (Divisional Sports Office) tournament saw deserving teams make the title round. Finals of the boys' and girls' under-17 and boys under-14 will be played at St Francis D'Assisi ground, Borivili today.
St Andrew's side proved to be dominant force, both in attack and defence, as their rivals St Francis boys tried their best, but could not pierce the opposition's defence.
In the tie-breaker, St Andrew's emerged winners 4-3. After their victory, St Andrew's captain, Jonathan D'Souza, who was also part of the last year's team, hoped to better their previous year's show and emerge champions.
In the other semi-final, Rizvi boys stayed ahead of their rivals Kandivli's Thakur Junior College and led 1-0 with Bryce Miranda's strike. But Thakur boys equallised through Karan Jadhav soon after the break, only to see Bryce strike again to take his side to a 2-1 win.
