Down 1-0 at the breather, the Tata boys pulverised East Bengal with a series of attacks and struck through Jagtar Singh, Irfan Khan and Robin Singh to cause East Bengal's inglorious exit from the tournament at a packed Vidyasagar stadium.
Earlier, Syed Rahim Nabi put East Bengal ahead in the 40th minute. Saikat Saha Roy rushed down the right and centred into the box. The ball deflected off striker Subhas Singh and Nabi finished off with a left footer.
TFA, which kept probing the East Bengal defence, equalised in the 61st minute Raju Gaekwad's long throw foxed East Bengal custodian Abhra Mondal and Jagtar headed in.
The Tata boys continued their dominance and scored a brace in the last three minutes to seal East Bengal's fate.
TFA seized the lead in the 87th minute when Robin Singh's cross was headed into the net by Irfan Khan.
A minute from close, Jagtar set up Robin Singh, who found the net.
TFA, who drew with United Sporting Club in their lung-opener, now lead the group with four points. Only one team will reach the semis from the group.
United, who take on East Bengal in their last league match Sunday, not only have to win, but also better the TFA boys in goal difference to make it to the last four.
