Formula One champion Sebastian Vettel has sent a chill down the spine of his rivals by saying that his best is still to come.
Vettel won 11 races and took 15 pole positions as he cruised to the title with a 122 point cushion.
Admitting that his season was "fantastic", Vettel said it had not diminished his motivation to succeed.
The Sun quoted him, as saying: "Being 24, it would be sad to say that has been the highlight of my life and from now on it only gets worse. Even if I retire one day I will still wake up in the morning and think that my best day is still to come."
Vettel said it would be hard for his Red Bull team to improve on 2011 -- but he is sure they can.
