It was by no means a good day for India's Heena Sidhu. Earlier in the day, she lost out on her gold medal by just 0.3 points in the 10m air pistol event yesterday and later she had to struggle for two-and-half hours to find her silver medal which had been misplaced at the Games Village. "Oh, those hours were nerve-wracking," Sidhu told MiD DAY.
Describing the incident she said: "I was checking in at the Games Village and had put my bag on the X-ray strip. But after the security check, I saw that my bag, which had the silver medal, was missing. I brought it to the notice of the security personnel. They then checked the Close Circuit TV camera footage and identified the woman, who had picked the bag. We went to her room and got it back. She was a Nigerian and must've picked my bag unintentionally," said Sidhu.
