London: Roger Federer saved three match points as he produced a stunning comeback to beat Marin Cilic 6-7 (4/7), 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (11/9), 6-3 and reach a record-equalling 11th Wimbledon semi-final on Wednesday.

With this win, Federer recorded his 307th victory in a Grand Slam match, surpassing legend Martina Navratilova for the most number of Grand Slam wins by any player in the history of tennis.

The 34-year-old seven-time champion made this 40th semi-final at the majors.

His dramatic triumph over the Croatian was his 84th win at Wimbledon. His semi-final opponent will be Canada's Milos Raonic who overcame Novak Djokovic's conqueror Sam Querrey.

The third seed, whose last major triumph was at the All England Club in 2012, is looking to win the title for a record eighth time to add to his 17 Grand Slam trophies.

The Swiss ace won his first Grand Slam title at Wimbledon in 2003.
