But Stricker, who partnered Woods to four wins out of four in last year's Presidents Cup and practised with him yesterday, believes the World No 1 is genuinely keen to help the United States retain the trophy in Wales
Asked about his partnership with Woods, which is expected to be repeated here, Stricker added: "We enjoy playing together. He's fun to play with, good to play with and I've kind of embraced that over the last few years playing with him and look forward to hopefully getting to play with him this week. I don't know for sure, but hopefully we can get back out there. I think his motivation level is high, as it is always in this event. He's a little misunderstood when it comes to these team events. I've played on a couple of Presidents Cup teams with him and he wants to win just as badly as anybody on our team.
"He's looking forward to playwing here and I thought he looked pretty sharp today."
