Beijing: Jamaica's Usain Bolt clocked 9.79 seconds to win the men's 100 metres gold medal at the World Athletics Championships here on Sunday.
American Justin Gatlin, the leading sprinter this year, had to settle for the silver medal in 9.80 seconds as defending champion Bolt grabbed his third world title, reports Xinhua.

Trayvon Bromell of the US and Andre de Grasse of Canada shared the third place.
Chinese Su Bintian, the first ever Asian in a World Championships 100 metres final, finished ninth in 10.06 seconds.
