Danish second seed Caroline Wozniacki, last year's US Open runner-up, advanced to the third round of the two million-dollar WTA Montreal Cup yesterday defeating Swiss Patty Schnyder 7-5, 7-5.<br /><br />Wozniacki, who like all the top-eight seeds received a first-round bye, is the only player among the top three seeds remaining in the field of the last major tuneup for this year's US Open, which begins August 30.<br /><br />Top seed Jelena Jankovic of Serbia went out for the second week in a row at the hands of a qualifier while US third seed Venus Williams pulled out last week with an injury.
