Yohann relies on home advantage against rival Rajat

Third seed Yohann Surti of St Mary's ICSE (Mazgaon) faces his toughest rival u00e2u0080u0094 second seed Rajat Agarwal of Poddar International (Santacruz) u00e2u0080u0094 on his home court in the semis of the boys U-13 Nike-MSSA Inter-School squash tournament at Bombay Gymkhana today.

Yesterday, in the quarter-finals Yohann beat Param Maru of Shishuvan School (Matunga) 11-8, 11-5, 11-9, while Rajat shrugged off his Campion School opponent Rohan Sadarangani within 20 minutes to win 11-0, 11-2,11-2.

"Whenever I have played against Rajat, the match has been decided at the fifth set. I've had some close matches against him and he has defeated me often. But this time, I am confident I will win," Yohann told MiD DAY. The 11-year-old, who admires World No 4 Nick Matthew, has been training for the last six years.

The event shifted to the Bombay Gymkhana yesterday since Police Gymkhana courts were slippery and the kids were not happy.

Yohann will enjoy a home advantage today. Hopefully, the Bombay Gymkhana courts will be kind to him.
