Pune: Adam, who narrowly beat the Bangalore Challenger Royal Salute to win the Bookmakers' Trophy (Gr 3) during his first show here, faces an acid test now in the Nirmal Ruia Gold Trophy, the main event of Saturday's nine-race card. Though Royal Salute is not in the fray this time, Adam carrying 59 kg is giving weight all around, including to Trance and stable mate Knight Of Key who are now better placed than him at the scales vis-a-vis the same race. Also in the fray is Shivalik Storm, winner of the Poonawalla Breeders' Multi-Million (Gr 1) at Mumbai last season, who seems to be gradually rounding into form.
Despite such competition, I feel Adam will be able to carry himself to victory in the hands of jockey Trevor Patel who is presently in absolutely incredible form.
