The third edition of the MiD DAY Corporate Soccer Championship kicked off admidst much fanfare at the Western Railway Ground, Lower Parel on Saturday.

Bollywood actor and football enthusiast Dino Morea along with MiD DAY Infomedia Ltd’s Managing Director & CEO Manajit Ghoshal flagged off the 17-team competition following an oath of fair play taken by the captains of all participating teams. The seven-a-side competition, played across last weekend offered a winner’s purse of a whopping Rs 100,000. The teams were divided into four groups, with each match comprising 20 minutes (10 mins each half). The top two teams from each group qualified for the quarter-finals.
