Myrtlewood, who last season won the Indian 1000 Guineas & Oaks before going down to Desert God narrowly in the Indian Derby, later faltered badly during the Pune season to go completely out of contention at the top level. However, she finally seems to have returned to fitness if her recent track trials are any indication. But it is difficult to predict whether her current fitness will translate into winning form, especially against Alaindair, who will undoubtedly command favouritism for the grade 2, the Maharaja Sir Harisinghji Trophy, the feature event of Sunday's seven-race card.

There are eight top class horses in the fray, but I feel the main fight will be centered between Alaindair and Myrtlewood, with Apache as the dark horse. My vote goes to Alaindair.
