Pune: Four 4y-old & two 5y-old fillies have entered the fray for the Gr 3, Threptin Fillies' & Mares' Stakes, the feature event of Sunday's eight-race card. Prominent among them are Aquamarine, Trance & Schiavone, the last-named brought all the way from Bangalore by her trainer Suleiman Attaollahi.
While the Bangalore-based trainer must have a good reason to plan this ambitious trip, I believe the two local fillies mentioned earlier can exploit the home turf advantage, and the past performance tells me to give first nomination to Aquamarine, I will not be surprised to find Trance, who finished full of running after a sluggish start last time, breathing down her neck approaching the winning post.
