The Indian men’s team were leading the Chinese by 27 International Match Points (IMPs) at the half-way stage of the 96-board, six-segment long semi-finals on Tuesday.

The lead would have been a lot more had the Indians not faltered by conceding 800 points on two boards towards the end of the third segment.

The match began strongly for India as they won the first segment 62-42. Segment 2 was 22-22. The Indians had taken a big lead of 51 IMPs, but lost 27 in the last four boards of the third segment.
With 48 boards still to play, this semi-final is a close affair. India is being represented by Jaggy Shivdasani, Sandeep Thakral, Rajeshwar Tewari, Sumit Mukherjee, Ajay Khare and Raju Tolani.
