Sports Minister Jitendra Singh on Tuesday said that the government was mulling over conferring the Bharat Ratna on hockey wizard Dhyan Chand for his contribution to the game and sports in general in the country.
With batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar being conferred the Bharat Ratna, there has been heated debate on why hockey legend Dhyan Chand had been ignored for the award. The Union Sports Minister jumped on the issue on tuesday, saying that the government was discussing the possibility of honouring the hockey wizard.u00a0
