Chess World Cup: India win three gold medals in U-10, U-12 categories

In the Open U-10 category, India achieved a clean sweep as Sarbartho Mani clinched top honours with Mondal Oishik and Kapil Aarit finishing second and third, respectively

India’s talented young chess players dominated the U-10 and U-12 categories at the FIDE Chess World Cup in Batumi, Georgia, that concluded on Thursday. The Indian youngsters bagged three gold medals to go with four other podium finishes (two silvers and two bronze).

In the Open U-10 category, India achieved a clean sweep as Sarbartho Mani clinched top honours with Mondal Oishik and Kapil Aarit finishing second and third, respectively.

Brijesh Devi won the Girls U-10 category while Sharvaanica AS claimed third place. In the Girls U-12 category, Pratitee Bordoloi and Dowda Aadya finished first and second, respectively.
