The Dallas Todywalla-trained Clarion Call who has won two of his three starts at Pune track this season can yet again produce a winning run in the grade 3, Idar Gold Trophy, the feature event of Saturday's eight-race card. With the in-form Dasrath Singh in saddle, the Alnasr Alwasheek - Star Fortune five-year-old can tame more fancied rivals like Native Knight, Cabriolet, Highland Crown and Spark Of Gold.
The supporting event, Radio One Trophy, sponsored by the leading radio station from the MiD DAY stable, may turn out to be extremely competitive as nine three-year-olds who have never won a race or even finished second or third, will be competing for the rich winner's purse of Rs 2.25 lakh and a trophy valued at Rs 15,000. The winner should most probably emerge from among the quartet of Flashing Sword, Ocean Yarrman, Set Afire & Stardom Bound, and the first-named, to be ridden by Malesh Narredu, gets my vote.
