Glasgow: One Glasgow Games official was left red-faced yesterday morning after stopping Sir Chris Hoy for an ID check — to gain entry to the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome.

The velodrome media manager defended the move, saying: "This is standard procedure. Everyone entering the venue needs to go through security."
