Red Bull’s incumbent world champion Max Verstappen could only muster a fifth-place effort, behind Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton.

McLaren’s Lando Norris clinched pole position for the Monaco Grand Prix, edging out Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc for the top grid spot.
Norris’s blistering lap time of 1 minute and 9.954 seconds also proved to be a lap record at the iconic venue. Norris’ McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri finished qualifying as the third quickest driver.
