Indonesia won gold on home soil at the Badminton World Championships with Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan defeating Liu Xiaolong and Qiu Zihan 21-17,  21-14 in the final of the men’s doubles.

Meanwhile in women’s doubles, Zhao Yunlei and Tian Qing defeated Christinna Pedersen and Kamilla Rytter Juhl 23-25, 21-8, 21-15.
