Jockey A Sandesh created a sensation at the Pune racetrack on Saturday when he booted home 5 winners, including the Imtiaz Sait-trained Iron Age, who bagged the grade 3, Akkasaheb Maharaj Trophy, the prime event of the card. Iron Age hit the front from the word go in the six-furlong contest, before sailing away for a comfortable victory, sparing five lengths to runner up Augustus Caesar (Neeraj Rawal up).
The ace jockey began his magical spell with his very first mount, the A M Jadhav-trained Lit, whom he drove to an impressive victory for owner Prashant Nagar in the upper division of the Ishpingo Plate. The same jockey-owner-trainer combination triumphed immediately in the next race when Queen O War justified her favouritism, posting a stylish victory. Sandesh completed hat-trick in the very next race by riding the Dallas Todywalla-trained Successor to an effortless victory in the Portrush Plate.
