As expected, Pesi Shroff-trained King's Ransom (PS Chouhan up), did turn the tables on Dyf, but not before causing severe anxiety to his followers as Akshay Kumar astride Dyf gave his all for one final push in the last 100m of the 2,800m trip. King's Ransom, low on energy by this time, started shortening her strides, with Dyf gaining on her with every stride. Both of them passed the winning post "locked together", the photo finish camera, thankfully for the followers of King's Ransom, ruled in her favour. With King's Ransom, Shroff completed a hat-trick on the Sunday card, having earlier won two races on the trot.

Shroff-trained Capitolium (C Umesh up) made it 2-for-2 on the Pune racetrack, decisively winning the Caprisca Trophy, a ten-furlong contest for class IV runners. Trainer Shroff also picked up the second and third places with Chagall and Alexandros respectively. In the very next race, Shroff sent out another winner in Nirvana, ridden by PS Chouhan, who won the Dr P K Sardeshmukh Maharaj Trophy in a start-to-finish manner.

Three of the seven horses in the Warsaw Pact Trophy--Snowfall, Buckley & Raffaello--received overwhelming support from their respective followers, Buckley getting most money to become post-rime favourite. During the race, however, Snowfall (Akshay Kumar up) won almost unchallenged as Raffaello never raised a meaningful gallop, and Buckley badly hung out in the straight, and could not challenge the get alongside Snofall despite all-out effort by jockey Dashrath Singh, perhaps because of a broken blood vessel. The day began with P Trevor steering the Hosidar Daji-trained Metzinger to a start-to-finish victory in the Jaidev Trophy, a bottom class affair over the mile trip.

Long shot Scaramanga, trained by Nosher Cama and ridden by TS Jodha, shocked his dozen rivals by authoritatively winning the Col K M Bharucha Memorial Trophy. In the last race on the card, trainer Ms Nazzak Chenoy sent out Sovereign Master (CS Jodha up) who suddenly scurried to the front from mid-bunch when negotiating the bend, and then was never challenged until the winning post.
