India’s TT star Manika Batra and compatriots Archana Kamath and Sreeja Akula recorded tough victories to enter the Round of 16 at the WTT Contender here on Tuesday.

While 60th-ranked Batra defeated 115-ranked Sabine Winter of Germany 7-11, 11-7, 11-6, 13-15, 11-5; World No. 134 Kamath upset 58th-ranked Yana Noskova of Russia 11-8, 11-9, 6-11, 5-11, 11-9. Qualifier Sreeja Akula beat Swedish Linda Bergstorm 11-8, 6-11, 14-12, 2-11, 11-7.
