The ongoing Metro construction work across the length and breadth of the city has not only disrupted regular traffic but has also affected the annual Mumbai Marathon. Yesterday, organisers of the Tata Mumbai Marathon announced alterations in the route due to the Metro work. In order to avoid large crowds and to ensure a smooth ending at the finish line, the organisers have arranged two separate ways — for the elite athletes and mass runners in the 15th edition of the run scheduled for Sunday, January 21. However, elite runners will have to take three 90-degree turns in the last 800 metres, revealed race director, Hugh Jones.
