Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty’s splendid run at the Singapore Open Super 750 badminton tournament came to an end in the men’s doubles semi-finals, as the Indian pair went down fighting in a tense three-game contest against Malaysia’s World No. 3 Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik on  Saturday.

The Indian duo, ranked 27, squandered the advantage of winning the opening game, but saved as many as seven match points before losing 21-19, 10-21, 18-21 in a 64-minute clash. It was their third semi-final finish this year to go with their exits at the India Open and Malaysian Open.
