Missy Franklin claimed an historic six golds at swimming’s World Championships while Ruta Meilutyte and Katie Ledecky each broke two world records as teenage girls ruled the pool in Barcelona.

Katie Ledecky: USA’s Ledecky shaved nearly six seconds off the 1500m freestyle record and then lowered the 800m freestyle mark. Apart from that, the 16-year-old also clinched two other golds — 400m freestyle and 4x200m freestyle relay — which earned her the ‘best female swimmer’ title.
