Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova has revealed that she and British businessman Alexander Gilkes have not been able to make plans for their wedding due to uncertainties. The couple could marry in 2022, but the date of their wedding is still in doubt.

Talking about her wedding plans, Sharapova told MSN recently: “I think with the air of this period it is difficult to make plans [for the wedding]. There are too many uncertainties and we have not yet decided on an official date. We haven’t talked about it yet because we want to put our relatives and friends at ease, with the right climate and not by pressing them to participate in something by force of circumstances.” The five-time Grand Slam champion and Gilkes started dating in 2018 and got engaged last December.
