Former NBA star Dwyane Wade credits transgender daughter Zaya for helping him become a better person. Wade, 39, who is married to actress Gabrielle Union, said raising his daughter, 14, who came out as transgender last year, made him aware of the Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transgender-Queer (LGBTQ) community.

“I didn’t know anything. I really wasn’t knowledgeable about the LGBTQ community,” Wade was quoted as saying by entertainment portal, Female First.
