Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand’s stunning run at the Singapore Open came to an end with a straight game loss to World No. 4 pair Nami Matsuyama and Chiharu Shida in semi-final here on Saturday.
With the defeat, India’s campaign at the BWF World Tour Super 750 also ended. Eyeing a hat-trick of wins against top-10 players, the unseeded Indians were no match for the Japanese who cruised to a 23-21, 21-11 win in 47 minutes.
