Trisha Varma, 12, played the lead role in guiding Utpal Shanghvi Global School (Juhu) to two successive wins in the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) girls’ under-14 inter-school handball tournament at Azad Maidan on Wednesday.
The energetic Trisha capitalised on the assists from her teammates to score a tally of eight goals in the two games. In the first match, Trisha confidently bulldozed her way past the defences of the PG Garodia School (Ghatkopar) girls and finished as the leading goal-scorer with five goals as Utpal Shanghvi recorded a fluent 6-1 win. Maahi Mehta scored the sixth goal to complete the Juhu team’s winning tally.
