The formation of the ITPA last week, to look after players' concerns, is a clear slap on the face of the All India Tennis Association. But it's not tennis alone that suffers from the syndrome of ignorant politicians running the show and treating players like loose change. Look no further than Indian hockey or even the Indian Olympic Association to see how corrupt the system is. How much more embarrassment will Indian sports have to suffer before the rot is arrested?

The faux pas is not an intentional one. For, the lean Bindra was left with no other option after being sent a pair of XXL trackpants by the powers that be.

This is not the first time sportspersons have created their own forum to protest the way they are treated by the government-approved associations
