Two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz emerged victorious on the opening day of Wimbledon 2025 against Italy's Fabio Fognini in an intense five-set match at the All England Club.
With this victory, the Spaniard has reached the second round of the men's singles of Wimbledon 2025.
Carlos Alcaraz, the World No 2 and French Open 2025 winner, overcame the veteran Italian 7-5, 6-7(5), 7-5, 2-6, 6-1 amid the intense London heat in four hours and 37 minutes.
