<p><a href="https://www.mid-day.com/amp/sports/other-sports/article/veer-anahat-into-semis-of-world-squash-cship-23522471" target="_blank" rel="none noopener"><strong>Anahat Singh</strong></a> and Abhay Singh began their respective campaigns at the Squash World Championship with victories in the opening round on Saturday.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Anahat, 17, overcame a loss in the first game to eke out a 10-12, 11-9, 6-11, 11-6, 11-6 victory over her American opponent Marina Stefanoni.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, her compatriot Abhay sent Switzerland&rsquo;s Nicolas Mueller packing with a 11-7, 2-11, 11-7, 11-6 triumph.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Anahat will face Egypt&rsquo;s Fayrouz Aboelkheir in the next round while Abhay will also take on an Egyptian opponent, Youssef Ibrahim, in his second round match.</p>
