Go, crack it up
6 PM: With new seasoned, experimental performances, Chalta Hai Comedy is on the lookout for hilarious comedians. Play with Sherlock

The Mumbai Press Club partners with the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) for an environmental journalism workshop meant for budding journalists, bloggers and PR professionals. Get familiar with unbiased reporting, scientific arguments and deepen your appreciation for the world around you. Understand Sufi music
6 PM – 8 PM: Sonam Kalra, founder of The Sufi Gospel Project, will take you through her journey of discovering sufi music at a talk titled, The Many Voices of Faith. The Sufi Gospel project puts together prayer, poetry and music with the message of secularism. Kalra has been featured on Coke Studio and shared stage with legendary musicians like Sir Bob Geldof, Sufi legend Abida Parveen and has even performed for Sting.

Watch a play on politics
8 PM: Directed by MS Sathyu, IPTA’s Moteram is a must watch. Adapted by Safdar Hashmi and Habib Tanvir from Munshi Premchand’s short story, Satyagrah, the play revolves around the British war tool of divide and rule with religion as a weapon. Satyagrah was written in the 1930s. Moteram was written in 1988. In 2015, it still remains relevant. The cast includes Anjan Srivastav and Nivedita Baunthiyal (in pic).

Walk with butterflies

OCTOBER 11, 7.30 AM: October is the season for butterflies and flowers in the Sahyadris. Sign up for a trek at the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, which is home to 1,000 plant species, 251 species of birds, 50,000 species of insects, 40 species of mammals. SGNP provides shelter to 38 species of reptiles, including crocodiles and monitor lizards, and 150 species of butterflies; and a large variety of fish.

Turn vegetarian for the planet

Oct 23-Nov 1: While most book festivals have an online presence, LitfestX takes it a step further to become India’s first virtual literary festival. The 10-day fest has authors Ashwin Sanghi, Rajdeep Sardesai, Raghav Bahl, Dr RA Mashelkar and Deepa Prahalad on their guest list. Events will include question and answer sessions, contests and chats between authors and readers online, conducted through various social media platforms.
